MACSPlex Extracellular Vesicle Surface Marker Analysis

We used this product to assess extracellular vesicle (EV) surface markers using EVs derived from the serum of patients undergoing treatment. The product allowed us to effectively discriminate markers that were associated with patient outcomes following treatment. The product uniquely allows a large amount of data generation from a small number of starting EVs, allowing the user to examine EV heterogeneity and to probe potential cell-of-origin. The product is good value for money considering the amount of information that can be gained. It is worth noting that one "blank" must to used for each set of samples analysed, so it is beneficial to dedicate time to running the samples in larger batches. We used the kit on both a Fortessa and Symphony machine effectively. The overnight incubation option seems to yield better results than the "fast" protocol.
