It is a very optimized medium for HEK-293 (Human Embryonic Kidney Cells) cell lines. Cell proliferation and survival is great in this medium. I am just completing this medium with fetal bovine serum and penicillin streptomycin or in other words with antibiotics. You can find phenol red which indicates the change of pH. It is great to track the state of the medium, however, if you want to do colorimetric experiments, I suggest not doing it in this medium.
