Oil-red-O Staining for Lipid Vacuole Identification

I have used oil-red-o to identify lipid vacuoles within adipocytes. Briefly, adipogenic cultures were stained for 10 min at room temperature with filtered 0.3% oil-red-O solution made with oil-red-O powder in undiluted isopropanol. After washing the cells were imaged to show lipid vacuoles within adipocytes. The images were of publication quality.
