Opti-MEM™ | Reduced Serum Medium
During my transfection experiments, I use Opti-MEM (minimum essential medium) culture medium. It is recommended when you are using Lipofectamine reagent (cationic lipids). It's a simple, improved culture medium (substitutes fetal calf serum) that allows the cell (Sp2, AE-1, CHO, BHK-21 and HEK-293) to better survive to the transfection process.
