I have been using this MEMα media to differentiate monocytes into osteoclasts. In order to obtain a successful differentiation, I have to add antibiotics, Hyclone serum, B-Mercapto, RANKL, and MCSF to the media. So far, I have used this media every time and I can say that the cell viability was maintained, the proliferation rate was good, and the cells exhibited the desired phenotype for the pathological condition.
