LI-250A Light Meter
These light meters are generally reliable, and we regularly use them in labs comparing light radiation in different environments (wooded area, over asphalt, near water, etc.) However they have been known to drift, and while calibrating them is straightforward they often having significantly varying results. They also don't work well on their own (held by hand) for consistent readings, so we built custom fittings to allow them to be locked into specific angles for more precise measuring between students/groups.
