Continued International Growth with Install at Cyceron Plateforme D’Imagerie Biomedicale
NORTH BRANFORD, Conn., December 13, 2012 – Precision X-Ray Inc. (PXi), the leader in biological specimen cabinet irradiators and radiation research systems, today that it has installed and commissioned another X-RAD 225Cx unit in France at Cyceron, located in Caen. This most recent sale demonstrates a growing interest of international customers for one of PXi’s newest and most-advanced models.
The X-RAD 225Cx combines high-accuracy cone beam CT imaging and high-dose orthovoltage radiation treatment in a single, fully-shielded platform. This promotes more accurate treatment planning and improved tumor targeting.

Cyceron is an imaging platform where biomedical research has been carried out since 1985, mainly in the field of neuroscience. A Public Interest Group (PIG) placed under the authority of the major national research organizations (CEA, CNRS, INSERM), Cyceron's partners also include the University of Caen Lower Normandy, the Caen Teaching Hospital, the François Baclesse Centre for the Fight against Cancer, the Grand Accélérateur National d’Ions Lourds (GANIL) and the Lower Normandy Region. In the framework of an agreement with the Lower Normandy Regional Hospitalisation Agency (Agence Régionale d’Hospitalisation de Basse-Normandie), Cyceron's imaging facilities are used for the purposes of clinical research, mainly in cancerology.
