ICIS Launches US Butadiene & Derivatives Conference

Conference ICIS has launched the first conference in the US to focus on the butadiene value chain - what will influence it upstream, and downstream from the key derivatives. Held in New York on 11th December 2013, the one day conference precedes the annual NECA meeting of industry players.

The volatile butadiene market and the factors influencing global supply and demand continues to attract huge interest. On the US domestic scene the rise of shale gas has seen a shift to lighter feedstocks and concerns about future supply of butadiene. On the other hand, reduced demand in Asia as new supply comes on-stream to meet previous demand highs has sent shockwaves through the European market and increased volatility.

ICIS organizes its 1st US Butadiene & Derivatives Conference at a critical time for the industry. ICIS Conference Manager Heather Robson stated: ‘Feedback from the industry told us a conference responding to the surge of interest in butadiene from all parts of the value chain would be unique, and certainly welcome. The 1st ICIS Butadiene & Derivatives Conference provides the expert advice stakeholders are looking for to understand how the fluctuating factors driving international and US markets will affect the future direction of butadiene.’

Factors influencing supply, the key markets of Asia, Europe and the US, and an examination of the main derivative markets driving demand (SBR, ABS, Nylon and Latex) will form key sessions at the Conference from companies including Petral Worldwide, Integra, Nexant, Inc, Ashland Performance Materials. and Michelin North America over the course of one day in New York.
