Artel Announces Upgrades to ArtelWare™ Software for Automated Liquid Handler Management

Westbrook, Maine (October 8, 2014) – Artel, the leader in liquid handling quality assurance, introduces ArtelWare v1.1, providing new functionality for the management of automated liquid handlers. The first in a series of upgrades now in development, ArtelWare v1.1 adds event tracking and management capabilities that give users more information about causes and effects relating to liquid handler performance. Users can now track many events that might affect pipetting, such as preventive maintenance, changes in protocols, consumables and labware, service and liquid handler malfunctions. The new functionality enables scientists to maintain high standards of liquid handling quality by linking performance trends to possible contributing events, providing important decision-making information.

“Since the introduction of ArtelWare earlier this year, we have been actively developing the product, adding features that are important to our customers,” commented Tanya Knaide, product manager for Artel. “The new event tracking and management functions give users a more complete picture of what may be affecting pipetting, enabling them to trouble-shoot and fine-tune preventive maintenance scheduling.”

ArtelWare, utilized with the Artel MVS® Multichannel Verification System, enables users to track and manage the performance of their automated liquid handlers over time. The software aggregates the standardized measurements from the MVS for all of a user’s liquid handlers, providing detailed, actionable performance information and a new level of insight for the management of these critical laboratory instruments.
