Porvair Sciences Ltd has announced that it has chosen the forthcoming Biotechnica 2011 exhibition in Hannover, Germany (11th-13th October) to launch a comprehensive range of new products for Epigenetics and Cell Biology.

For laboratories looking to remove the traditional drug discovery 'bottleneck' of solvent evaporation in microplates prior to analysis or reconstitution in buffer - Porvair Sciences' choice of 96-well, 384-well and robot compatible UltraVap™ sample concentrators will be of particular interest. Significant increases in sample throughput are achieved with the UltraVap through advanced evaporator head technology and an innovative manifold design, which directly injects heated nitrogen into each individual well of the microplate simultaneously. The system is proven to remove even the most stubborn solvents in just minutes. For heat sensitive and thermally labile samples the Ultravap™ may be operated in a unique two-stage mode combining rapid initial dry-down with carefully controlled final solvent evaporation.
