PHC Corporation of North America has launched a next-generation high-heat CO2 incubator that offers laboratories industry-leading contamination protection for valuable research samples. The incubator, model MCO-171AICUVD-PA, includes antimicrobial properties and smart design features that support precision cell culture research while streamlining laboratory operations and helping labs reduce their environmental impact.
The advanced contamination protection features in the incubator include inCu-saFe chamber material, which combines the germicidal properties of elemental copper with the corrosion and discoloration resistance of stainless steel. It features a new long-lasting SafeCell UV-LED germicidal bulb and an optional 11-hour high heat (180°C) sterilization cycle, which allows for the decontamination of the chamber and interior parts of the incubator at the industry gold-standard temperature.
This high-heat cell culture incubator is designed to help reduce a lab’s environmental impact by eliminating the need for consumables like HEPA filters and UV mercury-based bulbs, both of which must be replaced throughout the lifespan of other models on the market. By reducing downtime due to contamination, the incubator can also help streamline laboratory operations. Its stackable design and improved insulation offer added flexibility and a space-saving solution for busy lab environments—allowing one incubator in a stack to be decontaminated while neighboring incubators continue to operate at set point.
