HPLC Detector

An HPLC detector is used to analyze the components of the eluted mixture that is collected after being run through an HPLC column. Differences in detector type are based on what is being detected. Detection can be done by measuring absorbance, changes in reflex indices, molecular weight, and fluorescence among others. When selecting a detector, it is important to consider the sample type being analyzed. Some sample types will not work or will have lower sensitivity on particular detectors. Also of consideration is the type of information that is being sought by the analysis and what method will be used when running the column, for example, some detectors will work with the gradient method while others will not.

DescriptionThe 157 and 159 UV/Vis Detectors are HPLC spectrophotometer detectors with adjustable path length flow cells. Capable of accommodating 4.6 to 50 mm ID columns, the 157 and 159 variable wavelength UV/Vis Detectors detect compounds with one or four wavelengths simultaneously with an easy-to-change ... Read MoreThe VERITY® 1601 ELS Detector is an evaporative light scattering detector (ELSD). An ELSD is not dependent on UV absorbance and can detect compounds or impurities even if they do not contain chromophores, making it an ideal complementary detector to a UV-based purification system. With the use of Designed for semi-preparative to preparative HPLC modular systems, the VERITY® 1741 UV-VIS Detector has the ability to scan multiple different wavelengths simultaneously. It provides more significant detection information required for a wide array of purification applications.
