Sample Splitter / Spinning Riffler

Laboratory samples must often be divided into smaller batches, and doing so can be painstaking with only a pipette or balance on hand. Sample splitters quickly and precisely separate samples into equal parts, and can be broadly separated into two categories based on liquid or powder sample types. For liquid samples, one should use a riffle or riffler sample splitter, which has a vibrating bowl that automatically separates equal portions into a rotating plate of eight or more test tubes. Sieving riffler/sieving sample splitters are best used for solid and powder samples. These sample splitters use a mechanical or vibrating hopper, which sends material through a sieve and into eight or more collectors. In addition, the customer should seek liquid/solid sample splitters that measure equal amounts of material in either phase simultaneously, without cross contamination.
