CCD X-Ray Detector

Charge coupled device (CCD) X-ray detectors have replaced photographic film as the detector of choice for diagnostic imaging, allowing digital copies of images to be captured and stored much more quickly. There are two main types of CCD X-ray detectors—direct and indirect. In the direct method, X-ray photons are absorbed by the CCD, whereas in the indirect method X-ray photons are converted to visible photons, which are then absorbed by the CCD.

Considerations for purchasing a CCD X-Ray Detector

When choosing a CCD X-ray detector, consider things like how many frames per second it captures, the resolution and sensitivity and whether they are adjustable or fixed, and how easy it will be to integrate the CCD X-ray detector with existing equipment.
