Capillary Electrophoresis Instrument

Capillary electrophoresis instruments enable to the separation of charged molecules from each other. Unlike standard SDS-PAGE separation, capillary electrophoresis systems can provide molecule detection after separation through a light source and detector and the system can utilize high voltages without overheating the samples. Applications for capillary electrophoresis instruments include pharmaceutical (i.e. digest analysis of biopharma drugs; peptide mapping), life science (i.e., protein/peptide separation, DNA analysis, and PCR product analysis, chemical (i.e. raw material analysis), forensics (i.e. drug and explosive analysis), environmental (i.e. pesticide analysis) and food/beverage (i.e. as organic acid analysis).

Capillary electrophoresis provides additional advantages over other analysis methods, like HPLC, GC, SDS-PAGE, which include speed, cost of analysis, and easy method development. There are several methods of capillary electroseparation, which include capillary zone electrophoresis, capillary isoelectric focusing, capillary gel electrophoresis, and more.
