Laboratory vacuum gauges are used to monitor vacuum conditions in a vacuum application. Common gauges are analog gauges, with a needle or liquid indicating vacuum levels, and electronic gauges, that present a digital readout. A variety of technologies are used to measure vacuum; as the vacuum deepens (reaching pressures many orders of magnitude below atmospheric pressure), different detection principles are needed to provide accurate readings at various levels of vacuum.
