Dissolution testing is an important measure of the ability of a drug to dissolve in solution – the first step in a pill's administration. But most pills are heterogeneous, and it is not always clear if the active ingredient is dissolving as well as the inactive ones. Dissolution sampling systems analyze the process of dissolution. Like most dissolution testing systems, a dissolution sampling system can employ up to seven standardized apparatuses approved for use by the U.S. Pharmacopeia: baskets, paddles, reciprocating cylinders, flow through cells, paddle over disk types, cylinders, and reciprocating holders. The dissolution sampling system then analyzes the in vitro dissolution of the capsule or pellet's constituent compounds over time, as well as their movement through solution. This can either be accomplished by an internal optical system or by interfacing the dissolution sampler with an HPLC system. Consequentially, many dissolution samplers are designed to be compatible with HPLC systems from that manufacturer.

Choose from patented ARCH probes, designed specifically for dissolution testing with negligible hydrodynamic impact, or the new patent-pending Variprobe Adjustable Pathlength Dip Probe, which easily adjusts between 2 mm, 5 mm, 10 mm, and 20 mm pathlengths to accommodate a range of sample concentrations. By moving light rather than liquids, the in-situ fiber optic UV system of the Opt-Diss 410 removes the need for filters, tubing, and syringes, saving time, labor, and costs, while enabling near real-time data collection with sample points as frequent as every five seconds.
SIMPLE & EFFICIENT DISSOLUTION TESTING
Automated data collection and analysis take the test from start to report in real-time, with no operator interaction required. Data can be collected as frequently as every 5 seconds, with no extra effort.
MULTICOMPONENT ANALYSIS
Measure two components in the same dissolution test without the need for LC, including products with two APIs or interaction with excipients, coatings, capsules, or any other source of deviation of the UV spectra.
RAPID AND ROUTINE DATA COLLECTION
With acquisition speeds as fast as 5 seconds for all vessels, collecting near real-time dissolution profiles is ideal for formulators to understand complicated release dynamics as it occurs.
INDUSTRY APPROVED
Leading pharmaceutical companies, along with the FDA and USP, have adopted the Opt-Diss by Distek.
IN-SITU UV MEASUREMENTS
Keeping the science in the vessel! The Opt-Diss 410 measures directly in the vessel, eliminating manual or automated sampling along with the associated consumables, labor, and off-line analysis.
- Choose from patented ARCH probes designed specifically for dissolution testing with negligible hydrodynamic effect
- Or Distek's new patent-pending Variprobe Adjustable Pathlength Dip Probe. Easily switch between 2 mm, 5 mm, 10 mm, and 20 mm pathlengths to accommodate a range of sample concentrations.
SINGLE SOFTWARE PACKAGE
21 CFR Part 11 compliant, the Opt-Diss 410 is the only fully integrated UV fiber optic dissolution solution with a single software package controlling the entire system.... For The Distek Eclipse 5300 Automated Dissolution Sampler provides fast and accurate sampling via precision syringe pumps. By removing valves and rotary pumps and optimizing the sample pathway with a minimal 4.5 mL internal volume, reliability is enhanced and sample carryover is minimized. For economical sampling from two dissolution baths, a more affordable ‘child’ sampler can be added, allowing both baths to run identical or separate methods Additionally, the optional integrated filter changer replaces tedious manual filtering, and saves space compared to standalone automated filtering units.
RAPID / ACCURATE SAMPLING - Precision syringe pumps and reduced sample pathway allows for rapid time point high precision collection. Unique fluid handling closely mimics manual sampling.
NO VALVES OR ROTARY PUMPS - The elimination of valves and rotary pumps along with the optimized sample pathway with a minimal internal volume of 4.5 mL increases reliability while eliminating and reducing common sources of sample carryover.
INTEGRATED FILTER CHANGER - The optional integrated filter changer uses Distek certified syringe filters with matching membrane, pore size, and 25 mm design as your lab’s current filters, not custom filter plates.
COLOR TOUCH SCREEN DISPLAY - The icon driven user interface lowers overall cost by reducing training time and user errors while maximizing productivity and command of the autosampler.
COST-EFFECTIVE DUAL BATH SOLUTION - Adding a lower-cost ‘child’ sampler is a cost-effective way to sample from two baths. The dual bath configuration allows two different and independent dissolution methods to be run at any time.
MEDIA RECYCLING AND REPLACEMENT - Media Recycling and Replacement offer the advantage of returning unused media and replacing the collected sample volume for ease of dissolution calculations.... Read More |
