Description
A New Dimension in Particle Analysis
For over 50 years Microtrac has been at the forefront of particle characterization of materials using Laser Diffraction technology. Laser Diffraction has become the de-facto standard for measuring particle size distributions as it is fast, accurate and provides data for material over a wide particle size range (0.01 to 4000 microns). Microtrac SYNC expands that capability by incorporating Dynamic Image Analysis which allows a synchronous measurement of both Laser Diffraction and Image Analysis data on the same sample in the same sample cell at the same time. With the SYNC, as well as getting general Particle Size Distributions, the user can access data on shape parameters like sphericity, aspect ratio and many other morphological parameters.
Features and Benefits: - Microtrac SYNC uses a patented Tri-Laser System to provide light scattering data over 1650 delivering unsurpassed sensitivity in the smaller size ranges.
- Microtrac SYNC uses highly reliable semiconductor red and blue Diode Lasers (not LEDS or HE-NE Gas lasers) reducing service costs significantly.
- Adoption of AI for proprietary algorithms for non-spherical particles using modified MIE models more accurately characterizes real-life samples.
- Patented SYNCHRONOUS sample measurement using Laser Diffraction and Dynamic Image Analysis describes not only the particle size of a material but also the shape and morphology of the particles.
- SYNC’s DIMENSIONS LS software offers an industry leading user experience. Operator selected Workspaces for Method Development, Measurement, Results, Comparison, Particle Viewer and Calculation allows the user to design their own user-interface to meet their own specific requirements.
- Live video feed of sample flow assists the user to determine the proper dispersion of the sample during measurement.
- Outlier detection. Laser diffraction alone cannot always detect small numbers of particles outside the main distribution that may have an effect on the quality of end products. Because Image Analysis allows us to look at individual particles, the SYNC can detect outliers even down to single particles.
- Plug-n-play conversion between Wet and Dry Sample Delivery units. User can change from measuring in wet mode to dry mode in less than 10 seconds.
