PIKE Technologies is introducing a new GC-FTIR Interface accessory, merging the separation capabilities of gas chromatography with the identification possibilities of infrared analysis. This tandem sampling technique is ideal for the classification of isomers that may be missed by GC-MS analysis and for a secondary confirmation analytical method. Application fields include petrochemistry for the analysis of crude oils and petrochemical processes and products; environmental sciences for the study of pesticides, insecticides, and fungicides; and fragrance and essential oil analysis for fingerprinting chemicals. The GC-IR comes complete with heated transfer lines, heated gas cell, and onboard MCT detector enclosed in a purgeable external module.
