Hamilton, New Jersey, (May 30, 2012) – Today, leading events organizer UBM Live announced details of InformexINDIA event, designed to showcase the latest developments and opportunities across a broad spectrum of India’s thriving specialty chemicals sectors. Organized by the same team as InformexUSA, North America’s leading networking event for buyers and sellers of high value chemistry, and managed in conjunction with the UBM team in India, InformexINDIA will be held from September 12th to 14th at the Nehru Centre, Mumbai. The three day event is supported by the Basic Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals and Cosmetic Export Promotion Council (Chemexcil), Gujarat Chemical Association and the Indian Speciality Chemical Manufacturers’ Association (ISCMA).
This will be the second InformexINDIA, following a successful launch event in 2009, which attracted 100 exhibitors and over 3200 professional visitors, 41% of whom had decision making authority. “We are excited to be returning to India with a specialty focused event,” commented Jim Buckley, UBM Live’s Informex Brand Director. He continued, “According to a recent study by global consulting firm McKinsey, India’s specialty chemicals industry has the potential to grow from the present $22 billion to $80-100 billion by 2020. The Indian Government is putting in place plans and regulations to support this growth and our event will cover the latest developments in this fertile market while acting as an international networking platform designed to cater for those involved in sourcing, R&D and top-level management.”

Running alongside an exhibition hall, where around 100 exhibitors will showcase high value chemistry in a range of industries, from fuels to personal care, will be a full conference program examining hot topics in the Indian specialty market. Topics will include the regulatory climate, “Green” strategies for success, export opportunities in Western and emerging markets and adapting to changing consumer demands. Industry specific tracks will look at developments, opportunities and challenges in construction, agrochemicals, personal care, paints and coatings and water treatment.
