CVA and Cal-Chex assays add instruments

March 11, 2013 – Streck's CVA, an assayed linearity control kit used to determine the patient reportable range of 3-part and 5-part hematology instruments, is now assayed for the Beckman Coulter® UniCel® DxH™ 800, beginning with lot 3070, ship date 03/11/13.

CVA establishes an instrument's reportable range as well as verifies linearity, testing the extreme upper and lower limits of an instrument, assuring patient results are valid. Each kit has customized ranges appropriate for each instrument model and provides instrument-specific assay values for the white blood cell (WBC), platelet (PLT), red blood cell and hemoglobin parameters. WBC and PLT parameters have extended ranges, providing values up to 410,000 and 3.5 million for instruments with extended linearities. CVA has open-vial stability of 5 days and closed-vial stability of 120 days.

A comprehensive linearity report is available at no additional charge. Reports include a graph that clearly displays the instrument's linearity and accuracy, a peer group comparison, and an interpretive results section.

Streck's Cal-Chex calibrator will be assayed for the DxH 800 beginning with lot 3077, ship date 03/18/13. Cal-Chex is assayed on analyzers calibrated with whole blood using standard reference methods, ensuring accurate and reliable calibration of hematology analyzers. Cal-Chex has open-vial stability of 5 days and closed-vial stability of 45 days.
