Compact Unit Pumps 32 Liters/Second

The Pfeiffer Vacuum (Nashua, N.H.) HiPace 30 turbopump  has a small footprint and low level of vibration, yet pumps 32 liters per second. Suitable for integration into compact analytical systems such as benchtop mass spectrometers, small electron microscopes and leak detectors, it weighs as little as 2 kg and measures less than 12 cm in length. High gas throughput and a very good compression of light gases ensure the low residual gas background desirable for mass spectrometry applications. The unit incorporates hybrid bearings that are a combination of ceramic ball bearings on the backing vacuum side and permanently magnetic radial bearings on the high vacuum side. Maintenance interval is approximately 4 years.
