The Michigan Marijuana Regulatory Agency (MRA) ordered a product recall for vape cartridges at two Elite Wellness dispensaries. The brands Cereal Cart and Dank Vape were flagged due to the high levels of Vitamin E Acetate detected in some of their vape cartridges.
This recall comes after previous studies have linked Vitamin E Acetate to serious health issues. Large amounts of Vitamin E Acetate have been found in 48 out of 51 patients who had fallen ill or died of lung injuries according to the Deputy Director of the CDC, Anne Schachat. The findings were released in the New England Journal of Medicine.
