Lab4Paws’ new portfolio of animal PBMCs is designed for researchers in preclinical safety, toxicology, in vitro pharmacology and translational research in pharma, biotech and academic institutions.
The portfolio includes common research animals like beagle, cynomolgus monkey, pig and minipig, llama and alpaca. It’s designed to facilitate the selection of the correct animal model for the late in vivo studies and for the establishment of antibody libraries.
Additionally, to overfill vials by 50% to ensure post-thaw minimum cell recovery, Lab4Paws decided to cryopreserve cells in serum-free medium to minimize variability and facilitate worldwide shipments.
“We are excited to launch this new portfolio, as it allows Pharma & Biotech companies to reduce animal use in their in vivo studies and avoid selecting the wrong animal model, which may result in unwanted toxicity, suffering and even death of the animals,” said Davide Confalonieri, PhD, CEO at Lab4Paws. “It’s our contribution to the 3R movement. Also, being able to deliver these samples quickly means that we can significantly reduce the time to clinical trials for these companies. It’s a big win for both animals and patients.”
