Cannabis Sample Preparation

Cannabis Sample Preparation Many of the techniques commonly used for cannabis analysis require sample preparation steps such as extraction and cleanup. This can be particularly complex for cannabis products due to the diversity of sample types—including dried flower, cannabis extracts, and various types of edibles—each of which require specially adapted extraction and cleanup methods. As with other plant products, the cannabis plant itself presents a particularly complex sample matrix. Common extraction and cleanup methods used include the QuEChERS (quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged, and safe) method and dispersive solid-phase extraction (dSPE).
