Cell Disruptor

Cell disruptors operate with the goal of lysing cells in order to recover biomolecules of interest from within the cell. To date, there are a number of techniques used in cell disruption. These include milling, ultrasonication, bead breaking, French Press, chemical lysis, and high-pressure homogenizers. In selecting which approach of cell disruption to take, it is important to assess the nature of the sample, the required level of purity, and the volume needed to be processed.
