Sliding Microtome for Hard and Large Specimens

The sliding microtome is a histology sectioning instrument alternative to the rotatory microtome. Unlike the rotatory microtome, the sliding type provides a stage for holding larger size tissues (e.g. biopsies from human tissues). Like rotatory type, sliding type also processes paraffin embedded tissues. Another advantage of the sliding microtome is that it can process hard tissues and decalcified bone tissues. Users need to carefully follow personal protection procedures as the cutting sledge moves in this type unlike rotatory.
