Bright and Strong Protein Staining

Brilliant Blue R-250 powder to prepare Coomassie staining buffer. We used it by routine to validate the purity and integrity of purified proteins. We dissolve 0,01% of the powder in 40% Met-OH, 10% Acetic acid buffer for a couple of hours before filtering. When freshly prepared, the Coomassi fully saturates the acrylamide gel in 1-2 hours. The destaining is performed for convenience in the same 40%-10% buffer without the blue as long as necessary. Excellent contrast of the protein bands
