The equipment is easy to use. You won't need to spend a lot of time learning how to use the machine, however, in my experience it's sometimes challenging to optimize the conditions when you are reveling your western blot, and most of the time it burns. What I can say about DNA gel imagining is it's easy, and when you need to do subcloning it's easy to cut your band. I recommend the equipment because there are not many options in the field, but it is not cheap.
