The Little Mixer With a Lot of Power!

If you need small quantities of liquid (think 0.2 - 5 mL) mixed quickly and consistently, then this mixer is perfect! Love its small footprint, making it easy to transport between labs as needed or store for later. The different vortex settings work as intended, with a gentle rotation at 1 all the way to a very forceful rotation at 10. We regularly use this mixer to separate out pellets for DNA extraction from various fish tissues. In the long term, and the reason it loses a star for performance, the rubberized top can start to rip with excessive use (as in biotech labs) - though the replacement part is relatively cheap and easy to pop back on.
