Olympus Whole Slide Imaging and Stereology Seminars / 2-2-2

Whole Slide Image Analysis offers a fast and efficient means of obtaining quantitative information about tissue and cell samples. Predefined image analysis protocols measure morphological and spatial parameters such as size, shape, number and staining intensity to provide quick, accurate and consistent results. Recent increases in computational power, along with more cost-effective scanners and improvements in image analysis algorithms, havemade automated image analysis a powerful tool for a variety of research areas.

Whole Slide Stereology is an unbiased method of estimating important features such as total cell count, volume, surface area, length volume/area fraction and numeric density. Design-based stereology provides researchers with unbiased, statistically accurate three-dimensional estimates quickly and efficiently.
