New Automated SpectroPress® Briquetting Press Featuring AIDA™ Technology for Pressing Pellets for XRF Analysis

March 21, 2012 - The new Automated 40 Ton Force SpectroPress® featuring AIDA™ technology is designed for busy laboratories requiring the complete automation of pressing pellets for XRF analysis to a standardized diameter with simplicity, rapidity and repeatability of performance. Through the Chemplex® development of “Automated Integrated Die Assembly” technology, this challenge has been met and the new automated SpectroPress® model is now commercially available.

This amazing feat is accomplished by integrating a 32, 35 or 40 mm diameter die size of user choice and combining automation to take a powdered sample through the necessary stages of briquette formation without operator intervention. Simply place a powdered sample contained in a compressible tapered aluminum PelletCups® briquetting sample cup on the sample platform, touch the “Start” function key on the touch-screen and within moments a perfectly formed sample pellet is produced. It’s that simple!

Standard features include: programmable and digitally displayed force up to 40 tons in 0.1 ton increments; programmable dwell time up to 10 minutes in 0.1 minute increments to eliminate fissure development by allowing an adjustment period for the sample particles to their newly compressed state; complete elimination of die handling; illuminated working chamber; small footprint for any countertop installation, only 11” wide x 15” deep x 17” high; touch-screen controls; on-screen cycle status; audible end of cycle completion and diagnostic alerts; interlocked side-hinged safety door; microprocessor controlled; and much more.
