The 2022 American Association of Clinical Chemistry Annual Scientific Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo (AACC) takes place July 24-28 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois. On Tuesday, July 26, an industry workshop event sponsored by Bio-Rad will offer tips and best practices for quality control (QC) troubleshooting in clinical laboratories.

The workshop, titled, “I’m Out of Control – Now What? The Use of Analytical Goals and Interlaboratory Reports for QC Troubleshooting,” will be held from 6-7 pm at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place, Regency Ballroom A. The event speakers are Christopher McCudden, PhD, Clinical Biochemist and Associate Professor, The Ottawa Hospital, University of Ottawa; Nico Vandepoele, Bsc., Scientific and Professional Affairs Manager, Bio-Rad Laboratories; and Brooke M. The event will kick off with a networking reception at 5:30 p.m. The QC-focused workshop will provide attendees with a discussion on how analytical goals help with QC troubleshooting, tips and best practices to help differentiate QC limits from analytical goals, and tips and best practices on how to identify and utilize performance indicators to support QC troubleshooting. Lab professionals can earn P.A.C.E. credits of 1.5 contact hours by attending the workshop.

In addition to sponsoring the workshop event, Bio-Rad will also host a poster presentation on July 26 at 1 p.m. titled, “Designing Multi-Instrument QC Procedures to Reduce the Risk of Patient Harm From Erroneous Results” (Poster #A-147), in the Expo Hall at McCormick Place Convention Center.
