Malvern Chief Technology Officer will Speak about Latest in Protein Characterization at PEGS Europe

31 October 2012: Malvern, UK: Dr Neil Lewis, Chief Technology Officer for Malvern Instruments, will present a lecture at PEGS Europe, Protein & Antibody Engineering Summit in Vienna, Austria, in which he will discuss ‘Recent Advances in the Integrated Measurements of Protein Size, Structure and Formulation Viscosity’. The PEGS Summit is being held from 6 to 8 Nov 2012, and Dr Lewis’s presentation on Thursday 8 November is part of a session on mammalian and cell-free strategies.

The non-invasive and non-destructive determination of numerous physicochemical properties of protein therapeutics is critical for developing optimal formulation conditions to enhance product efficacy, stability and manufacturability. This requires analytical tools that rapidly measure formulation viscosity, protein structure and hydrodynamic size over formulation concentration ranges using only very small sample volumes. Dr Lewis will describe recent innovations in this area that permit integrated, automated measurements of protein therapeutic formulations.

Malvern Instruments is a premier sponsor and exhibitor at the meeting. Visitors will have the opportunity to find out more about the company’s products for protein characterization, including the brand new Zetasizer Nano ZSP. Malvern’s protein characterization specialists will be available throughout the conference to discuss specific needs and applications.
