INDIANAPOLIS - BioStorage Technologies, a global provider of comprehensive sample management solutions for the bioscience industry, today announced that the company's U.S. biorepository facility has received accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP) Biorepository Accreditation Program.
The first of its kind, the CAP biorepository accreditation program is a three-year, peer-based accreditation developed to drive the adoption of standards through consistent application of best practices and evidence-based standards. Launched in 2012, the program is designed to further strengthen the quality of patient care and ensure consistent, verifiable quality of biospecimens and biorepositories lacking in the current environment.
“Receiving this accreditation only underscores BioStorage Technologies’ foundational commitment to quality sample preservation that meets or exceeds industry standards,” said Gregory Swanberg, CEO, BioStorage Technologies. “Properly preserved samples are critical scientific assets that hold the key to accelerating the development of targeted, personalized diagnostics and therapies that will improve patient healthcare worldwide.”
