The Osteoarthritis Research Society International holds 18th Annual World Congress in Philadelphia.
MOUNT LAUREL, NJ- March 28, 2013--The Osteoarthritis Research Society International (OARSI) will host the 2013 World Congress on Osteoarthritis, April 18-21 at the Marriott Philadelphia Downtown Hotel in Philadelphia. The OARSI Annual Congress is a global forum for professionals in osteoarthritis (OA) research and treatment. The meeting will feature international speakers presenting the latest information on a wide range of topics related to joint damage and OA.
More than 1,000 of the world's leading scientists, clinicians, clinical investigators, rheumatologists, orthopaedists, radiologists and others interested in osteoarthritis research are expected to attend this broad-based global forum presented annually by OARSI.
“During the congress, we offer a chance for professional networking to expand our individual and group knowledge and understanding of the trends and newest technologies in the OA field,” said Dr. Linda Sandell, OARSI president. “Attendees can access information from scientists around the world.”
This year’s program includes five plenary sessions, 16 concurrent sessions and six breakfast sessions. Attendees may receive Continuing Medical Education credits by registering and attending sessions. As in past years and by popular demand, there will be a debate held on Saturday, April 20. This year’s debate is entitled “Should we treat pain or joint tissues?” Dr. Marc Hochberg will speak to the treatment of pain, with Dr. Steven Abramson speaking to the treatment of joint tissues.

OARSI offers an interactive forum designed for young investigators to meet leaders in OA research to seek career and research advice. This forum links young investigators with someone working within their field of interest.
