Edinburgh Instruments appoints new CEO

Edinburgh Instruments, Livingston, UK, 9th September 2013: Following the acquisition of Edinburgh Instruments Ltd by Techcomp Europe Ltd (25th February 2013), EI announces the appointment of Mark Vosloo as CEO .

Mark joins EI from Oxford Instruments where he has held various general manager and senior commercial roles for the past nine years. Prior to this he has a long and distinguished career in the opto-electronics industry including Linos Photonics Ltd and Horiba Jobin Yvon Ltd.

Announcing Mark’s appointment, CEO of Techcomp Europe, Chris O’Connor stated, “EI is a focussed manufacturer of high end photonic research systems and we are delighted to appoint someone with Mark’s experience to lead the business into its next phase of growth. His background and skills are a perfect fit with the dedicated and highly qualified team in Scotland, plus his customer focussed approach will bring a new dimension to our partners and loyal customers.”

Mark Vosloo added, “EI’s reputation for delivering advanced instruments to support some of the most innovative fluorescence lifetime research is renowned all over the world. With recent investments from Techcomp, EI is poised to add a number of exciting new platforms and technologies and I am excited about being part of the team to deliver these to our customers.”

Mark will be based at EI’s offices and factory in Livingston, Scotland and will take up his post on 1 October.
