Vanderbilt Researcher Receives $15,000 Grant from CABRI

Dr. David Aronoff, Addison B. Scoville Jr. Chair in Medicine and Director of the Division of Infectious Diseases at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, has been awarded a $15,000 grant from the Cayman Biomedical Research Institute (CABRI) to study Clostridium speticum infection in a mouse model of myonecrosis.

The grant money is to be used to support Dr. Aronoff’s laboratory, which will use a Cayman Chemical-developed alpha toxin ELISA to test the efficacy of a blood test for alpha toxin can be utilized to detect C. septicum myonecrosis.
