Offering up to 1.6-liter maximum capacity per run, these general purpose centrifuges provide the same advanced safety features and ergonomic design as the 4-L X4 and S4 Series models, with the smaller footprint offering more versatility to support various lab set ups and workflows.
With the launch of the X2 and S2 Series Centrifuges, Thermo Fisher Scientific is the first to offer a complete refrigerated centrifuge portfolio featuring natural refrigerants. Featuring Thermo Scientific GreenCool Technology, the refrigerant used has a low Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 3 and is compliant with European Union and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency F-gas regulations. In addition, the centrifuges are more energy efficient than previous models and are manufactured at a certified zero-waste facility powered by 100% renewable electricity.
Fixed-angle rotors deliver over 25,000 x g and swinging bucket rotors exceed 7,000 x g to efficiently complete separations, including for challenging samples. With support for up to 18 optional rotors on the X Series and up to 15 on the S Series, including Thermo Scientific Fiberlite carbon fiber options, the centrifuges enable a broad range of applications across varying lab needs.
Designed for efficient and ergonomic operation, Thermo Scientific Auto-Lock Rotor Exchange enables rotor changes in under 3 seconds while Thermo Scientific ClickSeal Biocontainment Lids offer glove-friendly, one-handed operation.
Available in both ventilated or refrigerated models, both series accommodate a range of lab setups and workflows. A general use model and an IVD/MD model provide additional options to meet varying operational and compliance requirements.
