Flow Cytometer

Flow Cytometer Flow cytometers are instruments used to analyze cells within a solution and provide multi-parameter analysis capabilities. A flow cytometer instrument is often comprised of a fluidic system to transport cells in solution, lenses and filters, as well as a laser or other light source to provide scattered and fluorescent light that is then analyzed by a detector. Flow cytometer detectors commonly include photodiodes or photomultiplier tubes. Used extensively throughout the life sciences industry, flow cytometers provide users with a wealth of information such as the determination of cell characteristics and function, biomarker discovery, treatment and diagnosis information, cell counting and or sorting, and many others.
