Assessment of Synaptophysin Expression in Murine Brain Tissue

The antibody was used to detect changes in the expression of synaptophysin in a mouse model of neuroinflammation using immunoblotting. The antibody was used previously for IHC experiments, providing really clear staining with minimal background. For the western blot experiments, we observed only one band (~40kDa) with minimal background and no unspecific bindings. However, optimization is necessary depending on each individual experiment. The Ab is very concentrated and was used at a dilution 1:3000. As a negative, I would say that the band isn't as crisp as someone would expect (in an ideal situation). In most of the cases, the bands appeared as in the attached image. Apart from that, and after adequate optimization, I'd say that this is a really good antibody.
