New Quan Solution Offers User-Friendly, Open Access Software for Shimadzu’s Triple-Quadrupole LCMS

COLUMBIA, Md., October 17, 2013 — Shimadzu Scientific Instruments has released Quan Solution, quantitative open access software for use with the LCMS-8030, LCMS-8040 and LabSolutions LCMS. Quan Solution gives users unfamiliar with LCMS software the opportunity to perform LC/MS/MS analysis using pre-set methods without extensive training.

Because the primary function of triple quadrupole mass spectrometry is quantitative analysis, Quan Solution creates opportunities for laboratories to simplify their workflow. Particularly well suited to multi-user environments, where training large numbers of chemists is impractical, Quan Solution provides open access to the triple quadrupole mass spectrometer.

With Quan Solution, sample logging is easy. Using a software wizard, it’s possible to start analyses by simply selecting predetermined analytical methods. Following analysis, the software sends an e-mail to the user, including a PDF report generated by LabSolutions LCMS that shows quantitative results. This allows users to read results outside of the laboratory.

In addition, Quan Solution is equipped with a function that copies analyzed data files to a file server. If the system is combined with a LabSolutions postrun license, users can reanalyze results from the office.
