Agilent Technologies Introduces Integrated UHPLC-DAD System

SANTA CLARA, Calif., April 18, 2012 – Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today introduced the Agilent 1220 Infinity LC system with DAD. This new integrated system brings UHPLC analytical power with diode-array detection to users who do not need the flexibility of a modular system but still require the highest quality at a low price.

The Agilent 1220 Infinity LC with DAD is an integrated, binary-gradient LC system with a pressure range of up to 600 bar, supporting both HPLC and the latest UHPLC technology, including sub-two micron and superficially porous columns. The built-in diode-array detector offers a full spectral data acquisition rate of 80 Hz. It is also capable of detecting very narrow peaks typical in UHPC analysis.

The new system is fully supported by Agilent’s OpenLAB CDS software via Agilent’s Instrument Control Framework, as well as by third-party data systems.

“The 1220 Infinity LC with DAD extents our portfolio of integrated UHPLC systems,” said Patrick Kaltenbach, Agilent vice president and general manager of the Liquid Phase Analysis Division. “By using the same subcomponents, the system offers the same quality and capabilities as a comparable modular 1260 Infinity DAD system.”

The 1220 Infinity LC with DAD includes a mobile kit and a walk-up kit. The mobile kit contains shock-absorbing parts allowing users to mount 1220 Infinity LC systems into mobile labs. Together with Agilent’s EasyAccess software, the walk-up kit makes the 1220 Infinity LC systems a great addition for any open-access HPLC environment sharing LCs between multiple scientists.
