HPLC Components

HPLC Components High performance liquid chromatography, abbreviated as HPLC, is a popular laboratory separation technique for the analysis of a mixture. HPLC separates dissolved compounds in a liquid sample. These divided compounds are then quantitative and qualitatively analyzed to determine what, and how much, was contained in the sample. HPLC systems typically consists of:
  • A sampler or autosampler
  • A delivery pump
  • A detector
  • A column
  • And some type of data recorder and processor.
In addition, systems may also employ the use of an HPLC degasser, a guard column, and a guard column heater or oven for column temperature control.
